"Zenken, through marketing and international human resources,
aims to create new value in the world.
And to realise this vision we believe
the health of our employees and their families is essential,
We thereby make the Zenken Health Declaration.
We promote health management from the three aspects of diet, exercise and sleep,
We aim to be a company where employees can perform to their maximum potential.
By practising health management, we will create a ""future that doesn't exist yet"".
We hereby pledge to contribute to society."
In recognition of the company's efforts to promote employee health, etc., the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the Japan Health Council have selected the company as a 'Health Management Excellence Corporation 2024 (Large Corporation Category)' as of 11 March 2024.
What is the Certification System for Excellent Health Management Corporations?
This system honors corporations, including large corporations and small and medium-sized enterprises, that practice particularly good health management, based on initiatives that are in line with local health issues and health promotion initiatives promoted by the Japan Health Council.
PROMOTION SYSTEM
Our aim is to create a company where employees are healthy in mind and body and can perform to their maximum potential.
Led by the top management (President), the Health Management Promotion Officer is in charge of overseeing and promoting the health management of our employees in cooperation with the insurance union and industrial physicians.
HEALTH CARE ACTIVITIES
We believe that it is an important responsibility of the company to create a healthy internal environment in which employees can work comfortably and have job satisfaction.
In order to ensure that our employees are healthy in mind and body and achieve maximum performance, we have reformed our working methods in response to the diversity of working styles, and since April 2021, we have made it possible for employees to take paid leave on an hourly basis, which has improved the rate at which they take paid leave. We are also working to prevent mental health problems among employees by encouraging them to undergo stress checks.

HEALTH CARE ACTIVITIES
Meals
In-house lunch sales
A balanced diet nurtures a healthy body.
We support the eating habits of our employees by preparing a wide selection of high quality meals.
In-house sales of Yakult
Yakult is sold in-house every Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.
'Intestinal health' has become a hot topic as it is said that intestinal health affects the health of the whole body. We were one of the first companies to promote intestinal health activities among employees through in-house sales of Yakult, and on sales days there is a line of people queuing up to buy Yakult, showing a high level of awareness among employees.
Many of our employees have told us that their health has improved since they have developed the habit of using Yakult regularly.
Office Glico
In response to health-conscious employees, we have requested a larger range of 'low sugar', 'whole grain', 'low calorie', etc. snacks in addition to our regular snacks.
Exercise
In-house club activities
We have a number of sports clubs in our company.
Employees who previously had no exercise habits are now becoming active members of our clubs.
Basketball club
JOG club
Futsal club
Badminton Club
Z-GYM
In our own building we have set up a 'gym' exclusively for our employees, to take care of their 'body' and 'mind'.
Employees can use the gym before work and on their way home, for a change of pace or to establish an exercise routine.
Radio exercises
From the perspective of preventing the spread of the new coronavirus, telework was introduced in our company, with more than 80% of employees in some business units working at home.
One of the initiatives initiated at that time, the T-Challenge (Telework Challenge), uses Zoom, a web conferencing service that allows employees to participate from their computers and smartphones, and conducts radio exercises during morning meetings.
Sleeping
Establishment of a napping space
We believe that good quality work comes from good sleep, which is why we have a napping space in our company.
Many employees use it every day, whether for a short break after lunch or when they want to cool down.
Other
Installation of balance balls and standing tables
We have a number of initiatives in place at our company to make people more health-conscious while at work.
All over the company we see employees holding meetings around standing tables, or operating a PC while sitting on balance balls.
External consultation service "Anri"
As part of our benefits package, we have a consultation service for the mental and physical health of our employees.
Employees can feel free to seek advice from qualified medical staff, such as public health nurses and mental health workers.
Free supplements
Supplements are placed on meeting tables, in lounges and other areas so that employees can easily take supplements anytime and anywhere, such as during internal meetings or over lunch.
Some employees have told us that taking them has become a habit for them.
In-house events
To stimulate internal communication, we organise a number of internal events.
This is a great opportunity for communication with other departments that we don't usually have much contact with, and many employees attend every event.
- Example 1: Tanabata event (Tanabata FESTIVAL)
During the event, employees write their wishes on strips of paper and display them on bamboo branches which decorate the company. One of the features of our Tanabata FESTIVAL is that some of these wishes actually come true.
Some of the wishes that have come true so far include a gorgeous lunch with the president and board members, an invitation to group seating at a famous fireworks display, seeing a popular production of the Shiki Theatre Company, etc. - Example 2: BBQ competition
The BBQ competition is a large event, attended by over 200 employees and their families each time. (Photo shows the event held in 2019).
